The Two Fatalities Revealed in Brown University Attack as Law Enforcement Continue Hunt for Gunman.
The pair of scholars who were killed in Saturday’s violent attack in Providence were honored at the start of the week – amid a widespread hunt for their assailant continued following the release by authorities in Rhode Island of the sole person detained in connection in the case.
Honoring a Lost Student
The young woman Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was called “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, according to the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which paid tribute to her at a service on Sunday.

The other person killed was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, an Uzbek national in his freshman year at the prestigious university, family members said.
His name was officially acknowledged by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.
“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. He harbored grand aspirations of becoming a neurosurgeon and assisting patients,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a online post.
The Shooting Incident
An additional nine individuals were injured in the weekend shooting in the engineering building of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the school’s final exam period.
Authorities said on Sunday evening that a 24-year-man arrested in a raid at a hotel about 17 miles from the campus earlier in the day was released from custody.
“We have a murderer out there,” stated the state's top prosecutor, Peter Neronha.
Neronha explained, “Sometimes you head in one direction, and then you need to change course and go in another, and this is precisely what occurred over the last approximately one day.”

The shooter discharged a weapon inside a room in the building on Saturday afternoon, firing more than 40 rounds from a 9mm handgun, a police source informed the media outlet.
