Paramount Skydance Set to Remove Nearly 2,000 American Positions – News

Paramount Skydance is scheduled to begin mass layoffs during the week starting 27 October, removing about 2,000 US jobs as part of a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.

These job cuts come after the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed during August valued at $8.4bn.

Further overseas workforce reductions are likely, with Paramount Skydance intending to reveal complete information during its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.

Prior news stated the firm aimed to reduce from 2,000 to 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

As of December 2024, Paramount retained nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff and 3,500 project-based staff.

The company has not yet commented regarding the report.
