Around 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms impacted the area, bringing powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Large Hailstones and Widespread Impact
Residents witnessed giant hailstones reaching sizes of seven centimeters in particular locations. Weather authorities confirmed that various areas across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Emergency response teams handled over five hundred requests for assistance across the region, mostly for structural issues but also for downed trees and flooding.

Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
The following day was predicted as the most rainy day, with continued thunderstorm potential predicted across various areas of both states.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
